2026-05-06
On April 28, 2026, the thematic people’s forum themed Rule of Law Protects Growth, Warm Families Nurture Young Hearts on resolving child custody disputes was successfully held at Chuangxiangwan Community Party-mass Service Center, Nansha Subdistrict, Nansha District.
Hosted by the Guangzhou Women’s Federation and undertaken by the Nansha District Women’s Federation and Guangzhou Women Social Work Service Center, the event invited Ou Meixin, Partner of Guangdong Wumei Law Firm and representative volunteer lawyer of the Guangzhou Women’s Federation, to attend and deliver a speech.

Centering on the diversified dispute resolution mechanism for child custody disputes and the protection of minors’ rights and interests, the forum gathered relevant officials from the Rights and Interests Department of Guangzhou Women’s Federation and Nansha District Women’s Federation, women’s federation cadres and mediators from all towns and subdistricts, as well as representatives of lawyers, psychological counselors and social workers.
Participants exchanged front-line practical experience in depth, discussed solutions to prevailing difficulties, strengthened multi-party linkage and collaboration, and pooled joint efforts to efficiently resolve family disputes at the grassroots level and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.

During the seminar session, Lawyer Ou Meixin, drawing on years of practical experience in the field of marriage and family law, systematically analyzed and interpreted the core essentials of handling child custody disputes from a professional legal perspective.
She emphasized that the handling of such disputes must always uphold the principle of the best interests of the child, and strike a balance between the impartiality of judicial adjudication and the effectiveness of social governance.
Lawyer Ou advocated resolving family conflicts through flexible mediation and empathetic communication to reduce confrontation in disputes and safeguard a sound environment for the healthy growth of minors.
Her invitation to this forum not only recognizes her professional competence, but also embodies the mission of Guangdong Wumei Law Firm — making the law a necessity in people’s family life.
Going forward, Wumei Law Firm will continue to give full play to its professional strengths, deepen linkage and cooperation with women’s federations and other authorities, provide more professional support for the protection of women and children’s rights and interests, and contribute to building a harmonious and stable family and social environment.
