On November 19, 2024, the Seminar on Challenging Practice Issues in Foreign-related Family Disputes, sponsored by the Marriage and Family Law Research Society of Guangdong Law Society and undertaken by Guangdong Wumei Law Firm, was successfully held at the firm. The seminar was presided over by Lawyer Li Xiaofei, Director of Guangdong Wumei Law Firm, attracting more than 40 lawyers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to attend.

The seminar invited four guest practitioners to share insights into the marriage regimes, marital property systems and child custody arrangements across four jurisdictions: Lawyer Huang Kaiyun from Singapore, Lawyer Liu Yajun from Australia, Lawyer Katsuo Yoda from California, the United States, and Lawyer Ku Ming Wai from Hong Kong, China.

Participating lawyers engaged in active interaction with the speakers, conducting in-depth discussions on practical difficulties and advanced experience in handling cross-regional and cross-border family disputes. The guests’ sharing also provided participants with valuable new perspectives for dealing with such cases.
